Please Help! First time Growing

I was given a few seeds and decided to plant them indoors. I am pretty sure they are bag seeds. I have two plants that begin germination May 2nd. One plant (the smaller one) has had some trouble since day one. They are both experiencing some type of stress. I am using LED lights.

the leaves are turning brown at the tips then eventually dying off starting from the bottom. I've noticed this about a week ago

yesterday I noticed that it is also effecting some of the top leaves. I water about once per week..if that.

Hey KC. Welcome. First of all. Your plants do look a bit stunned but not too bad. We need to know all the specifics you can provide in order to guess correctly what could be the problem. Just at first glance I would say they need more light and probably a transplant. Also waterin once a week means they need more air in the roots. Soil can get pretty clogged without perlite or something like that. Aaaaalso a pot with more holes or even a fabric pot would help a lot. But let's start with what light and soil are you using?

Also I am using an organic soil, I also noticed a spider mite last night so I am thinking about transplanting both plants and using fox farm soil. Any advice would be helpful

Are you using household led bulbs or a led grow light?

I agree they probably need bigger containers. I am a big fan of Fox Farms Ocean Forrest and Happy Frog. Not so sure about your lighting. I can see a bit of stretch. Can you supplement with some CFL's? Are you considering a real grow light? Can they spend some time in real sunlight? If you have mites you may want to consider Diatomaceous Earth. It is super easy to use and won't affect your plants. All in All though they look like nice plants. Good luck.

I agree you should probably switch to cfl bulbs until you can get a grow light. You can also get pieces called doublers that will turn one light socket into two sockets. I would get 23w 5000k cfl bulbs. A four pack at Lowes is somewhere between 10-12$. Keep these bulbs between 3-4 inches from your plants. They can be kept closer but any plant parts that touch the bulbs will burn and dry out. So keep an eye on them.
