Planting With a Soil Level a Few Inches Below the Brim of the Pot

I have some pots I want to use that a little tall for my purposes. I'm thinking about growing with the soil level a few inches below the brim of the pot. Is this a bad practice?

I start that way, then up soil and cover up to 6 limbs. Each of these grow roots (on most strains) and just watch the yield increase!
