ive planted a load of seeds 2 days ago,and ive just read that they should be planted one centimeter deep in the soil, but i have planted mine at about an inch deep in the soil, can anyone tell me if this is going to cause me pa problem,,,, im very worried,,,

mitch1075 ,Thats how I do mine, just like your doing. Just not that deep, but you should have no problems, I bet you want have helmet head problems either.
Good Luck an welcome to GWE! !

That's when the seed hull doesn't want to come off, on its own, it needs help.
By planting a little deeper, there is a very low chance of that happening. The soil removes it for you, like it's supposed too.
GoodLuck and HappyGrowing.

Did this myself a few months ago. Big bloody fingers 😂🤦

Mine are flowering so cant complain

Hay Mitch.no problem with the depth, just don’t overwater and you’ll do fine. Welcome to the show👌

In precision planting in light of all recommendations from the cultivating elite one should push the seed into the hole with a bare toe! Get in step man!

Seriously you might loosen up the soil at the top to make the seedlings entrance into the world a little bit easier. You will be rewarded for your efforts!

I have never had success planting my seeds directly in the soil. I always have to germinate the seeds. So I'm amazed that so many of you been successful.

I go both ways..... that just sounds wrong,🤨 during summer mounths I germinate in soil directly but in winter I germinate seeds in water till thay tail. And than place in medium .

I myself prefer planting direct in the soil (current outdoor grow, and yes it is cold here), I have used starters (current indoor grow), I never put the seeds on tissue to germinate (to many chances for my clumsy ass to hurt them). I also dont put them an inch deep, but they should be fine! (these starters are near that deep, the headbanger popped within 24 hours, the white widow and white moscow popped within 48 hours!) these seed are ready to please!
