PH- Pen vs solution

Just noticed that my pen reads different than what solution says. But when I put it in a batch of cal fluid it reads damn near perfect. Running DWC and tested the same sample. Anyone else notice similar?
broke the pen accidentally anyway, but it got me wondering.

Anytime I doubt my pen and have check with drops or vice versa I just end up triple guessing everything.
I calibrate and store my pen in solution.
I keep drops for backup but don't trust them or my eyes.

Howdy SkunkyMunkey, I use pH test strips (dual panel, pH range 4.0-9.0 Specialty test papers from Amazon). They work well for me, no calibration, no batteries, and automatically temperature compensating. I like the test strips over the solutions because the results (comparing the colors to the test panel) are not as adversely affected by the dyes in the different nutrients and supplements.

Yeah. Once bills are paid. I'm gonna have to get some quality gear if I get the job. Just applied for a MMJ Grower-trainee spot here in AR. And MO just passed MMJ that allows for home grow.
