The PH is now 7.4 to 7.6 in the soil in a 3gallon pot so I added 3tbls of "ESPSOMA SoilAcidifier" to the soil and the PH after watering is now 7.9. what did I do wrong? please help

Organic citric acid..
make water bottles with a ph range on 6,3-6,5.
and make a flush and keep watering with this range of PH.

Sulfur, pelleted sulfur mixed into the soil with a bit of pelleted dolomite will balance the soil.
Peat Moss can be cut in to lower PH as it has a PH of ~3.5.
Vinegar or citric acid will give a short lived PH down, for me it lasted only minutes.
Water soluble powdered sulfur can work however if you use perlite it can drop to far to fast. The sulfur mixes with water and with time creates sulfuric acid to do the PH down job.

Mine is lasting 7-8 days then the water goes from 6,3 to 6,5.
It’s not much and still in the range to use for the soil.

I have had the same experiences and also applied a soil acidifier. This was helpful but the main thing you need to do is keep your watering solution as close to 6.5 ph as you can. You might lower the watering solution to 6.0 for a week or so.

Don’t know if my tomato soil is organic.
Maybe this is why I don’t have a problem with the citric acid?
My soil is straight 6,4 all the time. Only used citric the last 5-6 years
