Outdoor grow training.

I’m getting ready to start a seed for a friend for an outdoor grow. It will be an Aurora Indica so short and bushy. I don’t have the option so I’m living vicariously. I’ve been kicking around what kind of training method to go with. I’ll be growing the plant under CFLs for about 4 weeks then we will be moving it outside. Current thoughts are topping at third removing the 2nd node from nodes 1/2/3 and topping at 3rd from each node, wagon wheel the shit out of it. I think this could be cool think bicycle spokes. I’ve never grown outdoor and I want to give my buddy something cool to start with. He would probably just let it go el natural. Just looking to kick some ideas around see what people have been happy with outdoors etc.

Locrian I top ,I manifold,I lst outdoors the thing to remember is that the sun moves and the wind blows so with that being said you do not have to worry as much about trimming of total training because they will get sun . I like to top mine in veg until they have a flat canopy with a shit load of tops a 3x3 plant is perfect 3 feet tall and 3 feet around

I did an AI outdoors last year. I just did a simple 4-stem manifold and she grew into a 40" bush. Although my environmentals are not ideal, she finished with about 4 oz of nice bud. It's what I'm currently smoking tonite.

Good to know though. I was wondering if removing the first and second nodes would hurt your yield outdoors vs topping at the 3rd and doing a bit of lst. Or if lst really even is worth it just let the sun do it’s thing.

Science says, wide and bushy is most efficient. I do both indoor and outdoor. My outdoor plants get topped once. You dont really want to break the apical dominance too much otherwise you start getting too many flower sites and very small clusters.

No less than 4, no more than 6. 5 being the happy medium. The one in the photo was done at the 5th node.
