outdoor grow in Petaluma CA (northern CA)

Is there anyone out there growing outdoors in or near Petaluma CA? If so I was wondering if you have harvested your plants yet? I am growing Sativia dominant plants and the buds look and smell ready but looking under a USB microscope the trichomes are not yet there. I am always second guessing myself.

Well...I don't live or grow outdoors in CA but I do grow sativas. Depending on genetics some sativas never turn amber if that is what you are waiting for. MIlky/cloudy might be all you see if the genetics are a long flowering sativa and/or haze strain from around the equator. If you haven't already check out the info at this link.

Thanks that is good to know I have not gotten to that point yet still not seeing enough white ones yet impatiently waiting but definitely waiting so far rain is in the forecast.

I pretty much suck at taking pix of trichomes. Those little buggers are not very photogenic. At least for me.

It looks like your girls have a ways to go. I see a lot of clear trich's in there. I'd be checking them often. I hope the weather cooperates for you. It looks like your harvest will be bountiful!

You can join the bad pic club with me!! If those trichomes were on my indica plant, then I would say not ready yet. Great looking plants by the way!!! You belong on this grower's forum!

Hi, sallymom. Nice grow. Good to have you on the forum!

Last year, I had two heavy sativa hybrid photos (Apple Betty, Herbies Seeds) that just kept going and going with no ambers. Finally chopped it early December (metro Phoenix) because I was getting concerned about bud rot and got about 32 oz. Made RSO from some. Still have 18 oz for dry ice hash. Plant pics below.
BTW, good trichome pics.

this year it feels like the trichomes will never get milky white is there ever a time they don't ? I always second guess this part of the grow. I think usually I have at least one indica plant they are ready quicker. This time I have from clones green crack, 2 sour diesel wing wang, and a pink lady.
