I have used "Trifecta Crop Control" which claims to be safe to harvest and organic. Its also pricey, I can say it did not affect the taste or smell of the weed. I'll be trimming the lower parts of the plants so air can get under. If need be I'll put a fan on them in the early hours to dry them faster from the morning dew. After a rain go out and give them a shake so the buds dont hold moisture, cover for rain if you can.
Also watch for Eurasian Hemp borers, they are here in our state, I am fighting them and about all I can do is cut off whats affected and destroy it. I first thought this was bud rot as the tip of the bud would die (would certainly lead to it), I found them by ripping the dead bud open to find an orange worm. This fall burn all trunks, limbs roots that you dont otherwise use. These damn things can winter in them.
This time of year watch for the brown stink bugs (another foreign bug), there is a wasp that kills these but I have not yet found a place to buy them.
Grasshoppers and Katydids, hoppers will cut limbs off, katydids will do the same as stink bugs and strip off the bark killing all above that point.
And we still grow outside.
