Out of town in harvest window

I have read articles on GWE, I have asked questions here, and both places get good advice.

Looking back, she came out of the ground 23July, which, if I do the maths right makes her about 66 days old. I also understand that SG is like a 70-80 day girl.

My conundrum:
Absolute clandestine grow, even people in the house don’t know.
I get one day every other week when nobody is home(happens to be tomorrow and two weeks from) that I can harvest.
Just found out that my next off day, two weeks from now isn’t happening because I have to fly out of town. (They’re calling it travel day so I kinda loose it. Unfortunately making my next day, after tomorrow 4weeks or 28 days out)
Also it puts me out of town for watering purposes.

Pictures are from this am, and I am looking for opinions.

  2. Should I wait and let her be thirsty while I’m gone

I appreciate any thoughts and suggestions​

Years ago, I saw an article on TV about people killing melaleuca trees in Florida swamps. They cut a few-inch wide band through the cambium layer around the tree and the tree died in place.
I have always wondered if you could do something similar by letting the soil dry out, cutting a similar notch in the cambium layer of a pot plant, and letting it dry in place. Maybe do an on-plant trim or at least a heavy defoliation? Maybe notch the main trunk as well as heavier producing bud stems? Maybe the plant will not immediately die, giving you a few extra days of ripening?
 
Gingerbeard, that’s some interesting info. I will definitely look into it. Of course I’ll need to find out what the cambium layer is first.
 
going2fast, I really was trying to do the girl justice, this was supposed to be a Nov trip, so I thought I planned pretty well. It’s a shame that work doesn’t revolve around my grow schedule.
 
Collars, girdles,and culls. Oh my, I can’t believe all you people trying to make me smarter. Guess I will have to look in my other than green cabinet for assistance in staying up and doing research. But I do appreciate the thoughts.
 
I girdle piss elm trees, it takes up to 2 years for them to die, but when they die its roots and all. If I just cut them down they shoot suckers up everywhere!
 
Interesting thought. Doing this might allow the plant to mature for a few more days then slowly dry out. Could this create additional routes for wpm?
 
So, the day you have to leave, your girl will be 81 days old. I'm wondering if you couldn't cut her down and hang the entire plant upside down in the tent just before you have to leave. Keeping a circulation fan and maybe a small dehumidifier running in there should keep any mold threat at bay long enough to finish your harvest a couple of weeks later. It's just a thought.
 
My answer to WPM is fans. The only time I have ever had an issue with anything not nutrient related has been when I have not used fans.
Onus is not on me for the idea. I have seen people talk about girdling. I have seen people talk about drying in situ. I do not have the syntax to ask google to search for culling/girdling/collaring weed/pot/cannabis in pot/container/whatever for more research.
 
Any fan inside a tent with a dehumidifier will over dry it unless it is like just above freezing in there.

A two week dry would need humidity at about 65% and temps around 14⁰C.

Getting the dry right is not the easiest thing when closely monitoring it. Keeping it completely stealth whilst away may prove impossible.
 
I worked in a greenhouse for 10 years. Super easy fast and healthy fix is a peroxide water mix. I just had wpm jump from cucumber plants to my almost ready to harvest buds and the spray killed it all that day. I just put it in a genetic spray bottle and sprayed the whole plants. Buds. Leaves. And especially the stem and underside. I did 1oz peroxide and 8oz water. Apparently it’s safe to spray on buds you’re gonna smoke. So it’s my go to now. That or milk/water. I try not to use anything I can’t eat or drink without dying lol. These work better than chemicals. Guarantee.
 
..... and that's one of the reasons why we home grow to completely avoid the shit that gets sprayed on buds in a commercial environment.

BTW, peroxide is a chemical, a highly toxic and harmful one if not used correctly.
 
Just did this piercer. I was in a similar situation as @Felkamior. Had an auto that only grew about a foot tall. She produced so many leaves I couldn't keep her opened up to breathe and finally just let the thing grow however it wanted. I chopped it and hung the whole plant upside down for about 2-3 weeks. Six jars curing. Lots of kief in the trim bin from the dry trim. I hung the plant in a 2x4 tent with the exhaust fan set at the lowest setting. That setting keeps the temps around 70F and the RH stayed high 40's low 50's and does not produce enough airflow to worry bout over-drying. When I jarred the flower, the RH in the jar was low 50's. Just what I like for dried herb. This got me out of a jam, maybe it can help you as well.
