it's a little known fact that the Canadian beaver (Castor canadensis) actually sheds the fibrous outer covering of it's tail roughly every 7 years. The discarded coverings (comprised mostly of alpha-keratin) are highly prized by the natives for their medicinal qualities and when prepared properly they're quite good on toast, eh?
 
I visited Nanoose when I was in the navy in ‘88. I smoked cigarettes then and they were $50 USD a carton at the time which was a lot. I found the Canadian cigarettes to be pretty strong. Nanoose is a beautiful area and I remember the trees along the bay were so green they almost hurt your eyes. And the air was fresh and the water was crystal clear.
 
or when they went to the Royal Canadian Institute for the Mentally Insane and tried to bribe the receptionist with a jelly donut..."perhaps this jelly donut will change your mind, eh?"...love it!!!
 
just to clarify my wee joke, alltatup, "BeaverTails began when Grant and Pam Hooker turned their family recipe for fried dough into a corporate business. They sold their first pastries at the Killaloe Craft and Community Fair in 1978. Two years later, they opened the first BeaverTails stand in the Byward Market in Ottawa." perhaps I can tempt you with one now :)

Hey The Hawaiian pizza was apparently invented in my home town back in 1962! The restaurant is still in business today.
 
duckman THAT'S the Canada I know and love. When I was 8 and we lived in Calgary for 2 years, I ice-skated and tobogganed my ass off. When I wasn't sitting in the hot springs in Banff...
 
Iroquois falls Ontario, way up past Timmins Ontario if anyone even knows where Timmins is located, I understand those who don't know though we get a good 5 to 6 months winter of winter but it changes every year but you have to be sure when the outdoor plants go in or they get frozen over night and they're gone. Gotta love it though.
