On Monster Cropping

wondering from the experts how late is too late to monster crop. Would during the first 2 weeks of flower cycle be Ok?

I'm one week in right now and had one girl I was training for a single cola. No real crazy lst just more of a lean and let the stem/trunk gain growth nodes. I saw an opportunity to grab the stem of the cola and she crushed and the green light went off in my head.

Oh shit I said I just monstercropped her. She bent over nicely. And I let her be. I thought of tying her down not but didnT want to stress too much. She's up today within 10 hours. I know I rolled her good too. Was able to almost twist the branch. Did I do good?

What other new real real time tips can we get on this topic.

Would you attempt to do it on an auto?
 
Personally, I would not monster crop after week 3-4. The plant has hormones (auxins) being created in the terminal bud, when you cut that off, it tells the plant to grow laterally instead of vertically. after week 3-4, she is putting her energy into making flowers and the hormone signals have changed.
 
I think we have a terminology issue here. I believe you are describing supercropping. Monster is taking a plant in flower and revegging it, or harvesting a plant and putting it back into veg.

Supercropping can be done at any time, IMO with no negative impact. I have done it as late as week 5 in flowering. The supercropped branch produced as well as the others if not better.
 
When you feel the inside rupture and you bend the stem to your will without breaking the skin...

No feeling like it... scared, excited, anxious, nervous, to name a few...
 
Once you get the feel for supercropping on a larger branch it's all over... you'll be supercropping bushes in the front yard....
 
I find this a fascinating topic. Since I basically did no training or topping other than removing big fan leaves, I know I have my work cut out for me on our next grow. What other benefits, other than the obvious that you want to keep all your colas at approximately the same height, does the supercropping achieve?
 
insom, im calling myself a BiPolarGrowlar. Cuz I am manic.... and nothing can be done on a small scale - or easy. So my first real grow considered of multiple LST styles, some FIM, super cropping topping, mainlining... maybe missed one :) point being - cant hurt- only makes you a better grower - and a learn as much as you can. I wanted to let one just go - see what happened...till her branch said feel me, and then... well it gets too personal and perhaps something that you need to do behind closed doors- its that sexy haha
 
I've been monster croping mainly O.G. for some time now but out of curiosity, i took some pre flower clones from a monster cropped clone. In theory, they should grow as if they were monster cropped due to the donor plant being so. Any professionals out there that might be able to give me more insight?

I'm not a pro, but here is my take. The clone will have all the caracteristics as the plant you took it from. But not the topping, super cropping, or LST results. That was done physically not naturally.
