I read that article - how strange some people are. The movie itself would have been good if you hadn’t read the book (a classic book!) but if you’ve read the book the movie is such a letdown. They literally changed the story so the title no longer applies. The book had a theme that was completely ignored in the movie.
 
I just remembered 'Grapes of Wrath' DeadlyFruit . The movie ending has absolutely nothing to do with the book.
'Cannery Row/Sweet Thursday' was a good book to movie slide.
If you have Netflix 'The Ballad of Lester Scruggs' has a short called 'All Gold Valley'. Really good book follow and acting.
 
alltatup LOL, used the NYT for effect, but not sure anyone actually understood the unwritten Walter Cronkite/Johnson pun. Perhaps I was flying to high :)
