Ok to wipe leaves with oil?

Happy Sunday! It's a beautiful day in the NW!
I know my posts get lengthy so I'll keep it short this time :) You know those hanging sticky fly traps used to nab gnats? I got some of the sticky stuff on a bunch of leaves. Is it ok to wipe them down with oil to remove it? What kind? Tea tree? Olive? Would Neem oil work? Thanks! Happy gardening!
