2 Kimbo Kush clone (started day after Thanksgiving)

Closet corner using Growlab tent 2x2x5.3 (with active air 6" and 24" carbon scrubber) w/ 2 fans
Currently running COCO 70% and 30% perlite with clay pebble on top
Veg nute s (AN Grow A&B), Calmag, GH BioRoot, BioThrive
Veg for about 43 days
PH 5.7-6.3, PPM 700 - 1100 (increase by week) using tap water (24hrs sitting)
Lighting 20/4 Viparspectra Par600
Water once daily when lights on
3 gallon plastic pot

Bud Candy, Rhinoskin, Dripclean, Calmag, BigBud Coco version (just added to the mix)

Hey it looks great. I can only really see 3 things you should change.Honestly it's nit-picky and would only sightly increase your yield. but it's worth mentioning.

Since this is kind of long, let me start by saying they look very healthy overall.

I'm going to start with this chart because I like visuals personally. With coco you are trying to aim for that pH 5.8 although you will probably jump between that and a soil pH of 6.2. The real goal is going no lower than 5.2 and no higher than 7.

1.) I would try and make iron more available. It will stop that yellowing and help increase meristem growth. I can think of 4 different ways to do that off the top of my head
o) Water with an iron chelate. I like 'Chelated Iron' by the brand 'Fertilome'. Link It uses EDTA as the chelater with all the micros that cause that yellowing and it reduces your soil pH slightly which will help chlorophyll production. I have gone as high as 10ml/gal and as low as 1-2ml/gal
o) Do an Iron Chelate Foliar Spray. I tend to stick around 5ml/gal. I have also sprayed it on rooting clones to help with the light yellowing that can happen. Never spray anything on budding plants. It's bad for your health and can do some nasty stuff to you if you spray the wrong thing.
o) Add Magnesium Sulfate to your water/soil. It will help reduce the pH and make existing iron more available. It will also help with your sulfur deficiency. Link
o) Add Aluminium Sulfate to your water/soil. It will lower soil pH and in doing do grab some nutrients out of your soil. 'purifying' it some. Link

2.) I would add more perlite to your coco. Since perlite doesn't hold nutrients. it helps improve drainage creating stronger root system up to a point. Roots have a much easier time moving around large pore spaces in the soil (perlite) vs something like a clay soil or packed coco where the pore spaces are small. I would start with a 1perlite : 3coco ratio and see if it improves anything.

3.) I would decrease the temperature and/or light intensity on the plants where the leaf edges are curling up. That curling means carotenoid production has been reduced which also means less terpene production.
It's caused by a few things and I cannot tell which one from the pictures.
o)The plant is not producing as much chlorophyll due to the pH being on the high end causing lack of Mg availability. (Chlorophyll: C[SUB]55[/SUB]H[SUB]72[/SUB]O[SUB]5[/SUB]N[SUB]4[/SUB]Mg)
o) The roots need more aeration because they aren't getting enough oxygen. More perlite will fix that.
o) The temp is to high. I would add a bigger exhaust fan. I use a 4" 190CFM inline fan with a carbon filter attached. Link
o) A fan is blowing directly on them constantly causing the stomata to close slightly. Link

Yes this is my first ever grow. Prop 64 is now here so why not do a little gardening inside the closet. Temp is around 65 when lights are off and around 78-82 depending on southern California weather. Set up my tent and exhaust fan and filter and lights and 2 days later brought in 2 kimbo clone and that became my 1st ever grow. Did do months of reading and research before I started.

#1 This is my first grow so what you said is way over my head. I will do some searching and reading on it and hopefully utilize the pointer you have given me.

#2 I am using 70% coco and 30% perlite, and the top I add clay pebble to help reduce gnats and their likes. I'll try to add more perlite on the next grow and see how it goes.

#3 Decrease temp. is always on my list of things to tackle. Since it is inside the corner of my closet and has mars300 and Par600 led unit in there, reducing the temp would mean AC need to be turn on. It is like 75 degree here and around 95 in summer. Summer the AC will be on but I don't think it worth it to AC during this time of the season and this is for personal use and for sharing with a few friends. I have 6" exhaust for 2x2x5.3 space which basically want to suck the tent up from the inside on full speed, on lowest speed setting. I do have 2 fan blowing on the directly, my reason is to make sure gnats don't land on the underside of the plant stem and media and not on the leaf. Both fan are on lowest setting.

Ocmaster, yes, your plants look fantastic! Yeah, temps are great in So.CA this time of year (lived in OC in the 80s).

Your SCROG looks great, but I'm thinking you may need to remove some more leaves. I'm starting my fifth week of flowering, and I went back and re-read GWE's page on defoliation:

to make sure I was neither removing too much or too little. I think I have to do some trimming in the bushy interiors of my plants, because after re-reading, I was reminded that the little larfy buds won't develop and will only suck energy from the buds at the top. So I will tackle that today when the lights go back on.

You are correct. As of today they are back to blocking most of the lights again with their new fan leaves expanding like crazy. I do believe there is a fine line, if you take too much it will stunt or slow down. Thank for responding, i'll get on it and give the 2 lady a trim.
