Howdy grantleslie1,
I have never used anything but pesticides (Azamax) in a foliar spray, but I will agree with Green75 and his experience. I would think that one would tend to cause nutrient burn by feeding both ways and the only thing that I would think that could be picked up by the leaves (other than CO2 and/or O2) is the nitrogen absorbed by rain water falling in the plant (in nature).
