Nutes

when using nutes made specifically for MJ (house and garden) with the manufacturers custom nute schedule do you still start at half?
thanks,
Taz

FF trio schedule seems high to me, unless they have changed it. I sued them for a couple of years and ran half to two thirds of their online schedule. I'm new to GH nutrients but the GWE GH schedule seems to be half of the GH online schedule so that's two companies that apparently recommend too high a concentration of their nutrients. It's confusing to me. If FF, GH and others deliberately jack up the recommended ratios to sell more product, I think they would lose lots of customers who burned their plants after spending good money and following instructions. I read somewhere that some companies are adjusting their published schedules to lower the recommended ratios. I'm just not sure which companies. I think the majority of forum threads recommend starting real low and increasing slowly until the sweet spot is found.

My two cents I change nutrients from General Hydroponics to Cyco using at their full strength not a single problem PPM runs about 1050 to 1150. Probably one of the prettiest grows I've done in years love the nutrients just not the freaking price.
Starting with a nutrient I am unfamiliar with I would start at at least half strength if not quarter strength it won't hurt him to under feed him but it will hurt them to overfeed them my two cents overpaid at that peace

I used GH online hydro schedule, full strength for the first grow. It worked very well. Resulting flowers were the best I've ever had. Second grow is in Week 8, full strength, two strains, both are
doing great. I FIM'd one and its 36" tall and 36" around, all flowers at the top. All from clones. I don't measure PPM, but check pH three times a day.

I read FoxFarms won't even acknowledge MJ users cause they say it's illegal, but they'll damn sure take your money though. This is just me but if I was gonna use nutrients I would use AdvancedNutrients cause they don't care ,they will help you out with any questions, and they really appreciate your business. I don't mean for this to be an endorsement.

The nutes from house and garden are not like 2-0-5 (like GH) they are like .6-.1-.3 (just an example not actually the right numbers). It appears as though it is already been accounted for the MJ does not need the same nutrients as a tomato. That's why am asking.

That's kind of what I'm thinking if you're running quality MJ nutrients rather than quality "whatever you happen to be growing" nutrients like GH that the online schedules may be already adjusted.

I am currently using GH but wanted to switch to house and garden (which I've already ordered) because it was actually made for and tested on MJ.

They cost a little more but if I use them full strength it's about $110 for 4w veg and 9w flower with a 15gal DWC reservoir and 12 plants.

🌱 I just looked at their Aqua Flakes A& B and you're totally right! I cannot believe how much water you get to how little nutrients you're getting! The bottles already cost more than a regular nutrient bottle and you literally need to use 10 times more to get the same levels of nutrients you would get with something like General Hydroponics Flora trio. Damn, I never understood how someone could pay hundreds of dollars in nutrients over a grow, but I can see how fast it adds up with these expensive nutrient lines with dozens of supplements. Like I'm looking at all their supplements right now and they're all mostly water! 🌱

I use the Fox Farm trio. So far I saved $7,400 off the dispensary cost. My wife and I just paid in full for a cruise vacation!!!!For me anyway its worth the $50.00 it cost!

🌱 Amen! I have used the hydro version of FoxFarm nutrient trio in coco coir with great results, and right now I'm growing a few plants outside using the soil version of the FF nutrient trio. It's my first outdoor soil grow and plants look gorgeous! With coco the only supplement I added was Cal-Mag and sometimes silica when it got hot, and with soil I haven't been using any supplements yet. The base nutrients are all you need. I feel like a lot of the time you're paying for snake oil and marketing when it comes to the really expensive nutrients and supplements! 🌱

This plant is being grown just with Fox Farm soil trio at half strength every other watering and nothing else (using high quality organic potting soil I found at the garden store):

IMG_0244.PNGIMG_0243.JPG The small plants (3 with pink labels are Acid Dough) are 2 weeks old the others are about 4.5 weeks old.
Where I live "top shelf " dry herb is about $17/g the wife and I buy 28g every 5-6days so $110 for nutes every 13 weeks (91days so we would have paid for over 500g) is not an issue. Our "dispensary" will miss us 😂.

I spoke with house and garden and they said I am using the wrong mix for DWC they referred me to this chart:

By the way I recalculated my nute cost based on the feeding chart and it will cost me $60 per grow using the full DWC lineup. So almost as cheap as Fox Farms for a company that tests on marijuana and that will answer your questions about marijuana and their nutrients.
