Not topping autoflower this time

Hi everyone. Growing indoors in coco a bubblelicious auto from Nirvana (picture is about 18 days from emerging). My previous auto grows were topped about now. Looking at my baby bubba, I decided that the plants natural form was so beautiful (with sidebranching looking strong) that I would experiment with this one and let it do its thing w/o training. I have always surrounded my autos with up to 8 60 watt CFLs (6500K first, then 2700 K for flowering,) so light on sides is strong.
Have had such great harvests that my supply is currently greater than my demand so I am willing to play with this one w/o fear of a meager harvest. I'll post pics towards the end. Any thoughts?

Looks great! If it ever starts getting too tall, you can always gently secure the main cola so the top is actually lower than all the other branches. That starts breaking its apical dominance (tendency to grow with one main stem) and the lower growth tips will start growing up more, a lot like if you topped it. Can't wait to see how it goes!

Thanks Nebula! I'm thinking that this one may turn out looking beautiful in a Christmas tree shape, and still give me plenty of bud. Hopefully daily attention to my CFLs and lots of side lighting will help! Love your site, and especially this forum!! 💚

Wow! What a growth spurt in 3 days since my last picture! No topping done, yet some nice looking side shoots growing up, and the central ones so far not dominating. I think this experiment may end up well! 🌻

I just jarred up about 8oz of that exact strain (2 plants). It smells amazing. Can't wait to try it.

I topped mine as soon as the 3rd node tips were visible (very early), the scrog'ed them. Worked out well. Fast-growing plants. Good Luck!

Thanks! I'm loving the growth habit so far, and definitely looking forward to the harvest! Hope yours turn out incredibly potent and effective! 🌱

25 days from emerging. I wanted to show my CFL light setup, and how my baby Bubba looks without topping or training. Each bulb is 60 watts, and all the 6500K bulbs will soon be replaced by 2700K's. I feel I'm on the way to a nice harvest! 🌻

Wow, it's only been about a week since your first post and your plant has doubled in size! What are you growing it inside of? That's cool what you did with the CFLs!

The container is made from outdoor rigid wire fencing (made into a 3 foot circle), then draped on the inside with reflective Mylar. Works great in my bedroom to keep my 4 cats from getting into the grow. The number of CFLs (and total wattage) is greater than what was mentioned in GWE, however I have had such good harvests that I'm reluctant to change. No need for venting, and any heat generated is welcome! 🌱

It's a 1 month birthday for my baby Bubba, so here's a few pictures today. She's looking quite lovely to me and I hope the next month brings some equally lovely buds! 🌻

Doesn't look like this plant even needed to be topped! 💥 The stems naturally are almost the same height as each other :)

Hi berrypilot, welcome aboard! Thanks for your reply. As mentioned earlier, this is an experiment, and so far I am pleased with the way the bud sites have mostly all grown strong and tall, even without topping. Of course, I have so many CFLS surrounding the plant...it really doesn't surprise me so much that the center dominance is not overwhelming. Good luck to you! 🌻🌱

Thanks Insomiaczzz! The buds are starting to fill out as we speak, so I am feeling hopeful that this experiment will eventually succeed. 💚

Thanks Pankace! It means a lot to get feedback from others. And it is fun to be at the point in growing cannabis that I can experiment a little, without fear of losing a harvest. Good luck to you in all your grows! 🌻

Hello again, here's a picture at 5 weeks from sprout, no topping or training as an experiment. Flowers seem to be forming nicely on main cola as well as sidebranching. Time will tell if the buds fill out as well as on my previous topped auto grows. 🌻
