Harvested one of the Vanilla Frosting plants today and tossed the mid-size buds into my
recently purchased bowl trimmer. Looks like broccoli. I'll be hand trimming the larger buds.
The indiscriminate trim I think takes away from aesthetic appeal of a nice manicured nugget.
The upside is that it's quick and leaves a very nice trim to dry and harvest kief from. The
bowl trimmer did exactly what it was supposed to but I don't think it's what I want for my buds.
Looks like it'll be headed for the garage shelf.

I've watched several review videos of these trimmers in the past. If my memory serves me correctly(which isn't that likely, lol), most said the buds needed to be a certain size to get that "pull" effect from the device. Also giving a closer trimmed look. Do you think it's possible that your bud size has contributed to your bowl of broccoli?

P.S. I wouldn't be a fan of that hack job either. :/

I have no clue if the size played a role. I used mid--sized buds. I hand trimmed the "show" buds and I keep the smaller ones for juicing in my rosin press. I'll have a better idea of what I got after dry & cure. Live and learn I guess.

Bag appeal means so much and I can't help but think it damages the trichomes a lot. For trimming to process some other way sure but they really don't do a decent job every Bud comes out round.
