node spliting from lst

can anyone give me advice on what to do please?? my plant has a small split on node from lst, now i have done my best to fix and suport the split with electrical tape but my plant dose not seem to be recovering well, should i just remove node and let plant focus its energy on the rest of the plant instead of trying to repair whats damaged or any advice would be great im a first time grower from australia also im having trouble posting my photos

Any damage I do, I try to fix with splints and tape. If it doesn't take after a couple of days, then I cut it off. The plant won't expend a ton of energy on a broken limb, it'll drop it anyway.
