A few years ago here in the north east we were hit with super storm sandy it took out power for 7days even the gas stations couldent pump gas. Lost whole crop 6 weeks into flower that being said, I won't let it happen again! I went out and got a generator after the frenzy pased.(home dep) and kept it in the box hoping I would not have a use for it. Well it's been quite a long time and it's still in the box with the recept att. It seems to be a kind of good luck charm I haven't used it but it there if needed. And if I get in a pinch I can always return it no time limit on returns. Lol

Ouch...losing crop that far along must have been friggin painful! 😦 I'm in Northeast also, but wasn't growing then. Hold on to that generator....you never know....it's been pretty extreme weather lately. 🌿
 
Generator is great idea. Lets hope the Atlantic coast doesn't see the like of Sandy again. All those jersey beach landmarks demolished. Glad you survived unscathed even if your plants didn't.
 
I had a 3KW generator that I used for racing that I now have for the house. Although we don't have long term outages it does come in handy if it's more than a few hours. Hard to plan for the uncontrollable though, went through 3 hurricanes in a month om 2004-10 days with no power, in FL, in August was NOT fun.
