nm to cm? Light help...

hi how do you convert nm to cm? I've attached a spectrum Graph and want to see if I can work out actual distance of lights for different stages but says nm and want to convert to a measurement size...

I believe nm are numens and cm are centimeters - one is a lightwave measurement the other for length. Guessing here - still working on my cup of coffee.

true, centimeters and nanometers, 1 centimeter = 10000000 nanometers, nm are so small they are used to measure the wavelength of the light, like how much it vibrates, this is used to differentiate one color from another, it has nothing to do with distance they are just about the color

Canuck has it close. Nm stands for nano-meters. The wave length determines the visible color or invisible color. Cm is centimeters.

Thanks all so nm is a wavelength. So by adjusting a lighr up and down doesn't alter the spectrum as such?

Right. The height above the plant changes the intensity and the heat.

No changing height won't change spectrum. Light spectrum is fixed by the type of leds you have in your light. Changing height will only change coverage and light intensity depending on how near or far your lights are from your plants.

Thanks for you input all. Another question, are these leds on ebay any good? Is says 8000w but actual output is only 45w but seem very bright.. cheers

lol no. it is not 8000w. It is 45 w which i guess is fine if your grow area is one foot by one foot.
