Newbie flushing question

My second grow, indoors, in tent with 600w LED light. Growing Golden Goat , high sativa and 13 Dawgs. One of each in soil and one of each in hydro. GG in hydro is huge. 13 dawg seems to be progressing to harvest quicker than GG, with the white tendrils turning brown and curling in , while GG is still quite fluffy. My question is when should I start with flushing? My first grow all hermied, then went real fast past optimal harvest time...stopped drinking and started drying up, so I had to harvest without flushing. All of the bud seemed pretty harsh and low potency. I do not want to have this happen with the large buds growing now....any help appreciated for this newbie

GG is a Sativa and takes longer to mature than the 13 Dawg, which is an Indica dominant strain. That is why the hairs are turning brown on the 13 Dawg sooner than the GG. Maybe the breeder has recommended flowering times for each? Maybe google and see what others say about grow and flowering time for those strains?
I hate asking brands because I hate brands. But what brand soil and nutrients are you using? Some soils cool faster than others. Some nutrient brands and types get flushed differently than others. Many people do not flush at all.
The hermie issue might be a light leak or other light source during flowering. What's your setup so far as tent, closet, room...
Are these auto or feminized/photo?
About your last/first crop being underwhelming, if you are basing your experience on what you were expecting after reading a review or breeder promo, get over it. Yours and theirs will never compare simply because you do not grow like they do. Be happy with what you get and learn where you might improve.
Go to the main GWE website and do a search for 'autumn color', too. That might be next on your list of future posts.

Not flushing didn't cause the problems you had with your last lot of buds.

Harsh smoking buds would be a fault of the dry & cure.

Low potency, if not a characteristic of the strain, is typically because of high temperatures and possibly high humidity during mid to late flower.

Flushing is bro science. There is no evidence it improves bud quality.

I truly do not understand flushing. Everything behind it speaks of hearsay and anecdotical evidence. Has the Green-haired Goddess of Grass done any controlled experiments on this? Even then, the results would be subjective. I think it's just one more thing to make your grow "special" or "different", not unlike "Small Batch" Bourbon.
