New toy, I mean tool

Certain aspects of my growing I get super anal about. PH being one of them. It has alot to do with my reef keeping background. It's one of those things that I go over board on. I've been through 5 digital PH pens, PH paper, just about every method to test PH. I finally bit the bullet and picked up a Hanna Growline hi9814 PH/EC/TDS/TEMP meter. Hopefully this gives me the accuracy I'm looking for. Let's face it, it's just another toy for me to fiddle with.

Today’s ph pens are shit. Kinda like everything else that’s cheaply made nowadays. My first ph pen lasted over ten years, it was dependable and accurate until I dropped it and the head shattered. Since then Ive went through a bunch as well.

Absolutely agree. I had a Millwalkie for 5 or 6 years that really trusted. Other than that I haven't found one that last more than a year. My Bluelab pen only stayed accurate for 7 or 8 months.
