Is this the 13th day of flowering when the leaves are flourishing? Can you pick some big fan leaves now, or do you have to bloom for 21 days before you can remove the big fan leaves?

Lots of folks around here stick to a 3 week flowering defoliation. My opinion is to remove leaves when they become too bushy. Might be a week, two, three or more.
Are they auto or fem?

lin091117 I do a little defol during the first 3 weeks of flower, but in part it's a question of trying to figure out how tall the plants are going to be: too much defol at this time will stunt height. So it depends on your grow environment and your height restrictions. Also, when colas shoot up with very strong growth, I will start a little trimming at the bottoms.

I just did a defol on my two in flower. One was three weeks the other was 2 weeks. I like to be able to look down the top and see some branching and flower stems not just leaves.

There is no exact rule. I usually remove some of the heavy stuff prior to flowering and most of the balance two to three weeks after flowering. However, for me, it is an ongoing process, If I see a bud site covered by a leaf, then it's adios.
