New probe calibration questions

What's going on family, happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone. I have a quick question regarding my ph pen. I have a Hanna HI98129, PH, PPM combo meter and i just purchased a new probe for it and i was wondering if there is anything special i need to do with the new probe before i calibrate it? A friend of mine told me i need to soak the probe in cleaning solution for 12-24 hours before calibration the pen. i couldn't confirm that any where and i cant seem to find any instructions on Hanna's site pertaining to new probe calibration which lead me to believe there isn't anything special I need to do. Any ideas?

I've never heard of that before, and I've never done it myself when calibrating, but if you want a second opinion definitely contact Hanna! I've never contacted them personally but over the years I've learned that most companies will get back to you surprisingly quickly
