New Grower almost done? Bud Rot or Paranoia???

Hi Everyone. I am at the end of Week 7 of my flowering and have four plants that are doing really well! Anyway last night I was looking at my two biggest Colas and I saw what I could only assume was Bud Rot starting. I panicked and cut them off so as to not lose my entire crop. Although post doing so (and losing probably like 1/4oz :( ) I pulled it apart and don't think that's what I was dealing with. Anyway If someone can look at these pictures and give me your thoughts I would really appreciate it. I've been using the GWE site the entire time and have done LST and really am excited to harvest in the next couple of weeks. Please let me know your thoughts???

Thanks Guys. I think it actually might be a bit of Light Bleaching as I'm using a Kind 750W LED grow light. I pulled the Bud back out and I'm going to dry it out now and "test" it in a few days. Since I haven't done this before, dry is about 3-4 days and then how long do you guys cure, or should I just enjoy this bit after I dry it out? Thanks I know I panicked but I've worked so hard to grow this as my first time I want to prove everyone wrong that I will in fact get something from my first harvest :) I snapped these of the stuff I cut off but can't tell (since I've never done this before) but I think these look pretty white as far as THC content

Do you have a hygrometer yet? If not, just get a small one that you can slip into jar. Depends on your humidity how long to dry. Around 50% will probably take 3 or 4 days to dry. that's if they are still on stem. You have just the buds, right? I'd say dry a day or two then put in jar with hygrometer. Your final goal is to have the bud cured at between 60% - 65%. the longer you cure, the more mellow, less harsh it will be. Lots of growers try their bud before curing. It may be harsh but will give you an idea of its potency, though that will definitely increase during last two weeks before harvest. Enjoy!

Wow Buffo, they are fascinating. There is a fantastic page on curing on GWE. I've read it like 10 times.

I grow outside had bud rot many times. Normally see a couple leaves start shrivel ing in the middle of bud, then starts turning brown. I try to only remove remove affected part of bud, try to wait before I remove whole cola. Unless the rot spreads, or plants are near finished.

insomniaczzz I just bought the Boveda Medium 8 Gram Humidpak 62% and plan to put all mine in mason jars with one of those packs in each jar. Hopefully that will take care of it!

insomniaczzz , I've been using the Boveda packs in my jars, but Nebula has something to say about not using them at the very start of the cure:

"If you're still in the early curing process, I recommend removing the Humidipaks once the buds are re-hydrated. While Humidipaks are good for long-term storage, some growers believe that they can hinder the curing process during the first few weeks, or at least reduce the taste/smell benefits. It hasn't been proven either way, but just in case I think it's a good idea to avoid having Humidipaks in your jars during the first 4 weeks of curing, except as an emergency way to re-hydrate your buds."

So I didn't use them until around week 5 or 6 of the cure; they are in with the buds now, and it's been 2 months they've been curing.

Oh oh oh...I just picked that up!Matie, your wonnabe-grower friends and close people told you you gonna get nothing and u wastin time and money ?From what im looking at here there's waaaaay more than "something" to get from your harvest!! I've been hearing this for ages now,my wife, my kindergarden school mate still thins ill fail to harvest...Im not gonna call it jealousy but i will call it fear!! And you should not fear since you've gotten 10 days away from harvest (assuming -+) with these nice buddyz you show us here!!! take this

Buffo, that looks exactly like Kingfish rot to me. Cut them all right now before they invest your entire crop and send them to me. Don't wait, do it now, not a moment to lose.
