New Grow "the Experiment"

Okay so I'm bored with just one plant. I need more! So I've decided to start a bigger grow I'm on top of my individual grow that I'm already doing. It's nothing spectacular by any means. But I do have some fun ideas in store. 😉 So what I have to work with: 4 "bagseeds" one I know is from some really good bud I smoked this week from a friend. And the other three are from some reggie I had a while back. Ive read that "reggie" seeds actually have a higher percentage of being female because a lot of reggie plants end up being hermaphrodites which put out more female seeds. It's wild, the variety of shapes and colors the seeds can be. Just the three out of the same bag are entirely different. I chose them this way in hopes to see genetic differences in the plants if any. So this grow is entitled "the Experiment" meaning I will probably push the plants as much as I can with out harm. Not really sure how yet. Going to do more research. There has to be one ULTIMATE tactic to growing perfect buds in vast quantity at every attempt, given that the variables are 100% consistent. Anyways, here's some pics of the seeds. I've started the germination process as of 8/21/18.

Ha ha, there's the rub. My variables are never 100% consistent because of the changes of seasons. What I have to do for the plants in winter is totally different from summer. I think that as I grow more (I just passed my two-year anniversary of growing my own), the more I synthesize all that I've learned about fine-tuning the environment and how to nip problems in the bud. Right now I'm playing with nutrients and flushing a bit more, trying to replicate grow # 5 where my buds were biggest. That's my learning goal right now.

I wonder if that light green seed is mature enough to germinate. On that grow # 5, the C99 hermied (heat stress: that was a good lesson learned because I hadn't really absorbed the knowledge about cooler temps during flower), and all four plants in the grow box had seeds. Most of em weren't mature, and the bud was excellent. Bag seed can be some of the best of all! That's where Chem Dawg comes from.

Juicy, I like your enthusiasm, but I will always use seeds from a tied and true seedbank and always deal with feminised seeds. I just don't want to waste my time.

Thanks for all the input peeps. I know you all seem most worried about me using seeds that aren't reputable. But tbh I'm not too worried about it. It's called "the Experiment" for a reason. So maybe i can determine a small percentage of expectancy of femanized seeds from bag. I've got 4 so we'll just see how many pop female. But again I dont care if they do. I just like to grow. Found this little tid bit of information online tho just to show what I was talking about:

Hermaphrodites are used to make feminized seed. Feminized cannabis seed is often made by introducing a hermaphrodite to a number of female plants. This is usually achieved by using hormones to invoke one or more of the females to generate male organs. The resulting seeds will be predominantly female or feminized seed.

Ive been growing "reggie" for awhile now and its some great smoke. Not the best but it gets the job done. I started like 25 seeds and kept the best looking ones. I got 9/12 females so i was super happy. Im on my 2nd generation clones from those seeds now. My first set of clones got re veg so the 2nd gen is only a week behind in flower lol and these clones looking way better than the mothers . I didnt keep any clones this time because i got a bunch of autos. I plan on breeding my own seeds soon with some good strains.

Each one was so different. Most of it was real smooth and kinda fruity tasting. I smoked most of it before it got a nice cure to save money and it was my first grow so it barely made it to harvest.

If you’re willing to take the time to weed out the bad genetics bag seed is perfectly fine most the weed we have today started as bag seed that people like you have grown and perfected. I would almost go as far as saying that the ability to correctly select genetics that suite your needs and grow a proper crop with quality yields from bag seed is advanced and requires more experience and know how than a seed company seed

I grow different strains, cure them and mix them together to vape or make tincture. It's always amazing synergy. I'm nowhere near ready to try breeding--not really set up for it.
