New Grow issues

Blue mystic autofem from Nirvana, germinated under a CFL in plain potting soil & perlite recently transferred to space bucket with FF OF soil w/ added perlite, no additional nutrients, 6.0 pH on all watering. Run off water was in the mid 6s on pH scale. Roledro LED Grow Lights, 300W UFO LED Grow Light for Indoor Plants, Red Blue Spectrum Grow Lamp for Hydroponics, Veg and Flower for lighting.

Is it already experiencing nutrient burn? I transferred it because the older leaves were already turning yellow and the roots were growing out the bottom of the cardboard nursery pot. I tore the sides of the nursery pot away before transferring.

Any input would be appreciated!

How do you water? how often? It looks like it's kept too wet, not allowed to dry enough between waterings. Looks a little burnt perhaps. FF OF is pretty hot by my standards, and dense/slow drying. (I've never grown in it. Just from what I see others doing.). You said you added perlite. How much?

I didn't measure the perlite, just mixed some in. When I water it doesn't take much to hear it draining out the bottom so you're right, I either need to let it dry out an extra day and/or the soil is airy enough.

I usually stick a finger in the soil to see if it feels damp. I use a plastic cup to slowly pour making sure to distribute all over the soil surface.

I've only used FF OF for my grows. I've had some burn in the past but I was adding additional nutrients. I figured this grow I would skip adding nuts and just let the soil do it's work.

I've used FF OF and Happy Frog exclusively for years and have never experienced burning. New clones go straight in and thrive. Also use FF nutes at half strength after a couple weeks.

My first grow was FF OF only and came out great. My next few grows I added in nutes at half strength halfway through following the chart on GWE and usually had issues. I was going to try no nutes again this time.

If I grew in OF, I would definitely not feed. It's strong. It doesn't come with a proper NPK label. But, state registration databases show it being 0.30-0.45-.0.05. That's *strong*. I use a soil that's 0.30-0.10-0.10. But, I use it as one part making my own light, airy soil. It's only 22% of the total volume (the remaining 78% i soilless peat and perlite). I feed it 200ppm every 2-3 or 3 days starting in week 3. (I start 1/8 to 1/4 strength in week 2).

From what I've read, it's customary to not feed OF for 6 weeks. Or, maybe 1/2 strength at 5 weeks.

You're not feeding this plant, are you? (Your original post says no additional nutrients.).

Az2000,

No, I haven't fed any additional nutes into the waterings. Even when I added nutes in the past it was a good 6 weeks in. I def don't use as much additional perlite as you do. I think this grow will be water only.

I extended my timing between watering and letting the soil fully dry and it seems to be doing much better. I think I might have to find a way to get more airflow tho. The blurple LED has it's own exhaust fans that are above the lid, and there's a PC fan pulling air in and a fan across higher up blowing out of the bucket.

I think this happened last time with Blue Mystic auto where the bottom got very dense. I feel like I have a new round of issues and I'm not even sure what they might be. If anyone can weigh in I'd appreciate some experience.

Seems like I can't escape issues with this grow. No nuts added. Same light 24/7 as this is an auto. I wonder if I need lights on the side as well.

I feel like this is really just a watering issue again. I try to let it dry out. Finger into the soil, lifting the bucket etc.

I still have random yellowing / brown spots here and there
