new england growers

Morning OJH ,I've heard you talk about powwow on here before ,what exactly is that ? An old hippie, freak reunion of some sort. New England is some beautiful country, how do you find out about it? Might just go ,being its not wintertime up there.Is it a smoke-out ? Curious mind.
 
That's funny, Jeg ,he's already gone, when he leaves he leaves doesn't he. Going to Powwow, by. He's got to be a pirate, all the Indians are out west aren't they ?

Wish I was going my wife and son are full blooded Sioux from standing rock south Dakota always enjoy the pow wow have participated in a few dances honoring family and vets that have four for are freedoms hope you have a great time
 
hey Daas sorry I'm just seeing this now it is a Native American celebration of life . there is drumming and Dancing on good days for me, but its about connecting with the earth mother,big family Reunion (Natives have 2 family's the blood one and the chosen one ) seeing that we like/love everyone there its usually a great time, the powwow schedule is at the wandering bull .com has all the new England listings. I keep my smoking quite. most powwow don't like alcohol or drugs on the grounds ,I have never asked about medical use just keep it stealthy . but it does go on just not out in the open. we also vend there I make Drums, jewelry ,fans,spears,war clubs ,knives ,bags,my wife does herbal remidys,soaps,massage oils ,ect. hey Jeg funny you should mention pirates, I had an ancestor who fought a pirate for the town of pimaqute Maine apparently he won lol. told that to the curator of the pirate Museum in Providence town on the cape he walked over to some books pick one up flipped though it a little and showed me the story from the book pretty cool
 
thanks Ribbit we did have a good time . and Daas just for the record I can dance, sing and play the drum just not all at the same time lol, any more than 1 thing at a time I just fall apart lol
 
the powwow was lots of fun , sat. we had passing thunder boomers , they dropped about an inch of rain sat afternoon, the powwow ground are beside a river and it overflowed on Sunday so some of the venders/dancers had to pack up early do to rising waters,we were ok the rain puddles dried up and Sunday was a great day . I had a tooth ache from Friday til yesterday morning so I was not in the best of moods. I still managed to get in grand entry on Sunday ,It was my privilege and Honer to help a nam vet around the circle during the veterans dance.that was all the dancing for me. seems I left all my prescription meds at home so it was along weekend lol you know that old saying that your body can only hurt in one place at a time well my legs felt great this weekend lol. my accomplishments for yesterday were ,I have a dentist appointment on Thursday and I ordered a new ac compressor for the RV .the old one had a leak around the shaft seal, I found parts to fix it but a new compressor was $150 so thats what I did . I also checked the girls to see how thirsty they were but that was it . after that it was me and my bowl for the day lol . well the birds just started to call to get up so quite time is over lol

OJH Other than the toothache , it sounds like You and Wife had a wonderful time at the POWWOW, I checked it out on the internet, sure wish we had something similar close to where I live. I know your not supposed to advertise on here ,but I would love to see some of your crafts, knives , drums or whatever And find out how to purchase them . Glad y'all got back ok.
 
I will take some pics for you next time we set it up .it will be a couple of weeks though. we were supposed to go to England this summer so I didn't sign up for powwows from 7/15 to 8/15 then when we bought the RV I could only get in a couple during those dates. If there is something specific that you are looking for I can do custom work.
 
I'm always buying custom crafts , so yes I'm interested. Thanks an have a Great 4th. I love that show on tv that shows people competing against each other ,forging their own steel.
