Need help understanding how much to cut at bottom of plant

This was my last grow it's 2 plants my 4x4 tent was full hard to tell but the bottom was cleaned off but not enough, I just got done jarring up and got 18 oz. but I really want a pound a plant.
I need a line I can't see on the bottom to give the top coloas everything ,I had suckers at the bottom I know should have been cleaned up now LOL
The light is a 600 watt
 
I don't like the pluck it all method ..I know it has a shadow area on the bottom and I just want that cleaned up.
 
You've got a bushy healthy monster of a plant, it obviously loves what you're doing! Beautiful :) If you want to be conservative, you could start by taking off the bottom 10-20% of the plant that's not getting any light, and remove any really huge fan leaves (hand size or bigger) that are covering bud sites. Some people also like to thin out the middle if there's leaves laying on top of each other, just to help get more air circulation through the middle of the plant. You can always take more leaves later if you want, so there's no reason to take more than you feel comfortable with :) Overall, your plant looks great!

Please share your experience with the pluck it all method....what went wrong....I'm curious to everyone's experience with the major defoliation process.it's very controversial for sure.

I just don't see the reason to pluck it like a chicken, you need leaves for the plant they are needed so I'll just do like Nebula said and clean 20% of the bottom that I think will help me get bigger yields, But I think I'm hitting close to what to expect for a plant 18 oz wasn't bad for the 2 plants.
 
No it was not..Very good indeed
when you remove most of the fan leaves it lets light down in and larf becomes nuggets which is higher yield as well....

Hey to each their own....there is no right way only the one we choose for each grow

I had defoliated throughout this grow and had a bushy plant like yours. While I didn't "pluck it like a chicken", I did remove more during 4th or 5th week of flower and it helped expose all colas to light and air. It also allowed me to clearly see full structure of plant so I will have a better idea which larf to remove next grow. It can be nerve wracking but I like the results.
 
They look great! The problem with 1 lb a plant is that using only one 600w light might not get you more than what you're getting. Light is directly related to yield as well as strain genetics. You'll most likely pull it off if you upgrade to 1000 w tho.
 
2lbs off of a 600 is hard to do. Maybe if u got a slightly larger tent and put the light on a mover? Maybe add 1 or 2 more plants. You could cover more space with the mover. Might take a little longer to finish flowering but would probably get you closer to your goal weight
 
My goal is to build a room I can control things better and I guess a 1000 watt light but damn running that 600 watt you can hear ching ching as the hours go by.
 
For what you're running now you're definitely pushing your yield to the max. The only thing you can do at this point to increase yield is add co2 to your grow room.
