HYDRO Need help... new grower "Hindu Kush" fert issues

I am using different nutes to you but never have to go more than half strength. I have gone higher but had issues with too much N.

I think you got your units mixed up.

A plant that size in coco I wouldn't be giving it more than maybe 1.0 EC. Not sure how that translates to DWC though. What make and model pH meter and EC meter are you using?

Google a read on EC and ppm scale and also TDS.

I find EC easiest to use. No confusion

Actually that comment re half nutes is not totally accurate. My nute manufacturer recommends an EC range of 1.8 to 2.4 and a recommended maximum of 2.2 in coco using my coco nutes.

I find more than 1.6 starts burn on my sativas, have pushed some autos to 2.0 but that was too high and some hybrids to 1.8, which may have been a fraction high. Those numbers were pretty much the plants max limits in an ideal environment with maximum PPFD, before problems started to creep in, mostly burn.

All the above factors will impact on your ideal EC which will be different in my setup.

Yeah my ppfd is at 160 I need to get it up slowly to 180 as she starts taking up neuts again. change to 18/6 soon as she starts growing again.

I've been doing DWC in a 80-litre res for some time now, and honestly, after first starting in soil, then trying coco, and now, this DWC system is by far my favourite, with crazy growth speed and yields in comparison.

I always keep my nutes basic as, A&B base nutes along with a root protector (like hydro guard) with nothing else, (well up until recently I started using a flowering booster, around week 3 of flower)

I think it can be overwhelming trying to keep everything balanced or "To the book" and not only that, it seems every extra thing I add causes complications and having to constantly readjust PH/EC etc.

Seedling to veg, I will start with anything between EC 0.6 to 0.9, gradually rising to about 1.2 just before switching. Once in 12/12 I will gradually climb to around EC1.8-2.0-2.2 until about week 6-7 (for a 8 week flower)

It's tricky at times, but I try to keep res temps around 21-26 degrees celsius. PH I always keep within the range of 5.5-6.2 right through the complete grow.

Of course all of this is subjective due to many different reasons, but this is what normally works well for me.
And again, depending on many things, If I can defoliate and trim and train correctly I can yield anything from 10 ounces to 16 ounces per plant.

I guess what I'm trying to say is sometimes adding too much to the mix can add to having more issues to deal with,

Keeping it simple works for me.

Grow well and good luck.
