I am 70 years old and rely on MMJ to help me feel better and keep going. I decided to try to grow couple plants and am a little lost. When I was young, we just out seeds in ground and had pretty decent home grown. Never followed the rules there are today so do not understand alot of the stages of growth. Please look at my photos, one is Miami Haze and one is Super Skunk. I feel they should be further along than they are. Set them outside in May, using Fox Farms as suggested. I did not know to top them and feel it may be too late now. Appreciate your experience. Thanks.

They look fine and I think I can see preflowers, pots are a bit small most would go at least 15 gallon for outside photos. I myself use raised beds about 135 gallon in each, if I need to skip water for a day they are fine with it, in small pots dont let them get to dry (or to wet).
BTW I have some "wild" plants growing, wild because I did not plant them nor do I water them or watch them for bugs etc.. IF they make then bonus! I would chop a male if I spot it.

I agree with the pot being small. I would use it for an indoor grow but outdoor a 15 gal would be very beneficial to a plant that big. Looks like it might need a nitrogen bump. Leaves turning yellow that early, to me, it signals maybe a nitro deficiency. Especially when the yellowing is creeping up the plant like in your photos. Just my opinion.

A cap of seaweed extract in 2.5gal of water will help them.
Do not overwater. If water is coming out the bottom of your pots then that is the start of problems with nutrient deficiency, namely nitrogen. It washes it out of the soil.
Watering twice a week should be fine unless it gets quite hot and/or windy.

If you're dealing with nutrient imbalances, checking runoff pH and adjusting feeding strength can make a big difference. Sometimes less is more, especially if you're seeing signs of overfeeding. I’ve had similar issues when growing thca hemp flower, and dialing in nutrients slowly while monitoring plant response helped a lot. Also, improving airflow and ensuring roots aren't waterlogged can prevent a lot of problems before they get worse.
