Hey, Ned here. I just wanted to provide​ my experience with nutrients and what I learned through trial and error
I started growing early last year and run a perpetual garden. I'm on my 5rh cycle. I am currently running a hortilux blue 600w MH in a 4x2 tent. I grow for personal use and aim to grow the best bud I can.
​​​​​i got my setup at a local grow shop and the sales guy instilled in my mind "less is more" when it comes to feeding. He gave me a bottle of advanced nutrients sensi bloom A+B and a bottle of Bud candy and I was on my way.
Over my first grow I bought the entire "grand master", or whatever it's called, line. I always went lite on feedings. I run heavy well water that is 450ppm out of the tap. I would always keep my waterings to 1500 ppm. This is 1000ppm of nutes and 500ppm from the tap.
I have been very successful in getting very good bud but have always had plant issues mid grow. My last cycle I had a grand daddy purple seed from blimburn seeds that got these odd yellow, necrotic, areas areas on the leaf as well as stunted bud growth. The sugar leaves were growing but the bud itself stopped growing vertically. I had asked my grow shop guy and he said flush but keep the nutrients low.
Knowing I had this issue in previous grows I decided to email advanced nutrients. I got a quick response telling me to use full strength in every feeding. This equates to about 3000ppm if you include my well water TDS. I was hesitant to use this much so I increase to 2000ppm which I thought was high. I got through the grow. Tmming was a PIA but the bud was my best to date.
Fast forward to this grow. I am running the same exact plant, a clone from the previous grow, within the same environment. I decided to try using full strength, 3000+ppm, of everything advanced calls for on their website.
I have to admit, the results are astounding. The pics below are the same plant at the 22 days into flower. You can see what looks like a zinc deficiency in the first grow. The buds are also much larger and mature than the previous.
Your results may vary, but don't be afraid to feed.
