Hey. Thank you for all the help so far. I’ve had a few issues with this lot. PH was off, got that sorted then we got bud rot and caterpillars? I put pictures up and got rid of all the bud rot that I could see. As we were going to get rain , we decided to bring them in for the last few weeks. I thought I’d got all the bud rot but we still have it so I think we gotta harvest early. I have read about spraying organic milk but I’m thinking this will ruin the taste ? I have so many questions, if we harvest now, is there a special way we need to dry to prevent any more mold? What do we do if we see mold when drying? Can we use the bits that the mold isn’t on or should it all be discarded? We caught it early and there are just a few buds with it and it’s not in the whole stem, So I’m just wondering what is the best way to deal with it? I just started flushing today. I’ve been told to do that for a week and then let them dry in the pot for a few days with nothing so they dry quicker when cut. Does this sound right ? I’ve also added a Couple of leaves. It went purple and yellow but I couldn’t find a picture like it to let me know what it was. Also now another leaf has started to go brown and crispy. I want to find out as much as I can so I can do better next time. This strain is meant to be a good one but for more experienced grower, which we are not . It’s called gelato or galado , I don’t know how you spell it. Any tips so we don’t lose much more would be really appreciated

I grew gelato last year and loved it but agree I had a bit of difficulty with it at times. I ended up with some bud rot last year but just a little bit this year. From my experience, and what I was told from some friends:

Do a first trim/remove all fan leaves and extra foliage you can for the first hang and dry.
Remove all mold at this time - I use scissors and baby wipes so I can wipe my scissors and hands as I work to avoid any mold.
I discard the moldy bud if it’s the majority of the bud but if it’s just a tiny bit I cut it off - wondering if I should just discard the whole thing all the time?
This year, I’m trying using a diffuser with tea tree oil in my drying room to prevent mold from spreading in the air - worried if this might change the smell/taste tho?
Then I do another trim after it is dry enough to start curing in mason jars - any buds I think are at all suspicious I put in a jar on their own so they wouldn’t spread the mold to the good buds.

I am not an expert at all, but this is what I’m experimenting with this year as I have a bit of mold but not as much as last year... Hoping to follow your post and get some more pointers!

Thank you for your reply. Sorry no one else could help with the questions, Maybe I asked too many 🙈😂
I’m just keep an eye on them and flushing. I’m cutting off the bud that has it and snipping out the brown bits in the hope to save some. It’s a couple of weeks early but better than losing it all. Definitely look for something easier. Well these were good till this happened. At least I didn’t get white fly this time , that was a headache , especially when you trying to grow organic
