Natures Living Soil?

Is their concentrate the typical Subcool recipe only using Worm Castings without the potting soil? I cut this recipe down to .33%=4 cubic small batch recipe, so it calls for 10 gallons of potting soil and 3-6 pounds of worm castings. so, what I am asking is if I use the 3-6 pounds without adding the soil, will that make a similar concentrate. Anything you would add or take away from this mix.

New 'Super Soil' Recipe by Subcool - Makes ~12 ft[SUP]3. (paramount seeds recipe)[/SUP]
  • 8 – 1.5 ft[SUP]3[/SUP] bags of high quality base soil
  • 1 – 33lb. bag of Worm Castings
  • 2.5 lbs. Fish Bone Meal
  • 5 lbs. High Phosphorus Bat Guano
  • 5 lbs. Blood Meal
  • 2.5 lbs. Bone Meal
  • 3 cups. Oyster Shell
  • 3 cups. Kelp Meal
  • 3 cups Alfalfa Meal
  • 3/4 cup Epsom Salt
  • 1 cup Dolomite Lime
  • 2 cups Azomite
  • 2 TBS powdered Humic Acid

Even though I’m using 7 gallon pots I’m going to give the NLS super soil recipes a try on my next grow.

I ask Richard from NLS,
What exactly is the difference between the two methods [recipes]? I don’t mean ratios, but why two methods? Does one work better?

He replied,
Basically for containers 10 gallons and smaller there is not much difference. Over 10 gallons the super soil has the advantage because the roots have a centralized place for the nutrient rich mix. Under 10 gallons the roots will get everywhere anyways. The theory behind the Super Soil method is that when the plants are young and more delicate they are in a more “normal” soil and will not burn as they mature, the roots reach the super soil layer when they can handle the hotter soil and take full advantage of it. If planting directly into living soil method it is still a good idea to make a little hole where you are going to plant and fill it with regular potting soil as a buffer.

This is what I am trying to achieve: Concentrate!

Rather than pay $60 oer 10lbs, I want to build the concentrate so I can store it that way, then mix with potting soil when I am ready for it. So my plan is to blend the mix with with only castings. Make sense.
 
Btw, I have used 3, 5, 7, and now ten gallon bags. They all work, but the smaller they are, the more you have to recharge with tea! Also, RO water will cause you to need calmag of sorts and maybe epsom salt foliar sprays. RO lacks mineral content and you will end up with defiency's
 
You might find this useful. Separating your ingredients can make a longer shelf life. I sent it to NLS and he was thankful.

Just an FYI I saw this on GWE site. Wondered why it was 2-parts, this explained it.
