Things are really going great with this Amnesia Trance (AMS).
Week 8 of 12/12, we're seeing the leaves turn to their autumn colors, and the colas are really beginning to fatten up. I started to flush as soon as I saw the plant draining the nutes from the leaves.
Into week 9, I've flushed the plants and have started with organic molasses. This plant has a strong grape aroma, which changes slightly with different flavor enhancers. Things got more earthy with the Botanicare Berry additive, then when I changed to the molasses, the aroma got distinctly sweeter. Placebo effect? The Missus notices the odor change, even though I don't tell her I've changed flavor enhancers.
Three days later and the color change is very distinct. Trichomes are clear, but the tops seem amber. I've seen this throughout the grow and I believe the color is a refraction of the available light. Snipping a small piece of bud and letting it dry overnight, I found the smoke incredibly smooth -- just an overnight dry, no cure -- with a bit of a minty/fruity flavor. One toke and I found the high very Sativa like. Uplifting and cerebral.
IMPORTANT: I've learned that this strain will suck every bit of life out of a leaf. The leaf will still have clear trichomes, but it will be brown. Once it goes brown this dead leaf invites bud rot. I find it important to trim any leaves that are getting close to brown. The small bud I trimmed had some of the brown leaf, which I cut off. No bud rot, just good smoke.
AMS stated 9-10 weeks of flower before harvest. I think I'm still 3-10 days away. So we could venture into week 11.
And here is the plant in my 2'x4' flowering cabinet. It is sharing the space with a couple of female White Widow Extremes, which I'm going to use for breeding. Full height of the AT is 32".
