My buds have spikes instead of hairs

Both plants started out showing white hairs then one lost them on all the upper buds. One day they were looking normal the next not so much. I'm wondering if I should clip off the spikey hairless buds or will they come back? I have grown for years but this is a new one on me. It's not just the buds closest to the light but all the top layer that's direclty exposed to the light. probably from the top to about 6 inches deep. The other plant is absolutely fine. Thanks for any help.

I haven'thad one hermie in years and I remember it looking different. Of course my memory is shot lol.
 
If you have the space, I'd let it grow out and see what happens. It looks like something in the genetics is showing up in this plant. Might be kinda cool to see what it is or what it does.
 
I have seen something similar in some of my outdoor grows. I attributed it to insects eating the hairs but have never caught one in the act. Any chance of bugs in the tent?
 
I have not seen any bugs or any signs of bugs so far. Also I think bugs would be chomping on both plants and the other plant is untouched even where the branches from both mix together.

Was in the greenhouse today and noticed one of my autos has that issue. I see this on random plants outdoors but it's never been a problem, buds develop normally. As I said I put it down as something eating them but don't know that for sure. I would think the only time it would be a problem is if you wanted to breed you might have a hard time pollinating buds like that. Have never seen it indoors.
 
Looks a bit hermied to me, but sometimes you get those on buds. Just a different structured flower perhaps.
