Must I use FloraMicro with FloraBloom???

Hello. I will soon run out of my regular flowering nutes with about 6 weeks left till harvest. I switched the lights about 4 weeks ago. I found a bottle of FloraBloom at the local hardware store! (Times sure have changed. Think Walmart will start selling seeds soon?!) It was half the cost of my regular bloom nute which I don’t want to buy now anyway as it may be 2 or 3 years until my next grow. I didn’t buy any FloraMicro.

Once I run out of the old nutes, I plan to start giving theFloraBloom at 1/4 the recommended dose to see the effect. If all goes well, I will increase it a little with each watering until I reach half the recommended dose.

I am growing coir. I add cal/mag and pH test with every watering. Growing under an led light and cfls.

My two questions are:

Will my plant get all the bloom nutrients she needs without the FloraMicro?

What is it for anyway?

Flora micro provides nitrogen and calcium. Pretty much at the same ratio. Calmag has less nitrogen than calcium. But the most important difference is micro has all the trace minerals the plant needs. Cobalt, copper, manganese, zinc, etc

I have never grown without trace minerals. Don't know how quickly the plant will show deficiencies and it's very hard to make your own mix or try to supplement with other basic salts

If you need more nitrogen or calcium you can always buy a little bit of calcium nitrate and use that. Need magnesium get a sample bag of Epsom salts and you're done. Even for potassium and phosphorus just get some mkp and I'll get you thru flowering. But the micro I have always made sure it's there in the base nutrient formula.

What can you do. Usually liquid nutrients crystalize after years in the shelf. So buying and not using it would be a waste. If I were you I would buy a small bag of maxibloom, maxi it's a dry two part formula, one for flowering and other for veg. It's a general hydroponics line. Just like flora. The 2 pound bag it's like 20 bucks and will last for years in a shelf with no issue
 
Honestly, I have almost always used the GH Flora Nova Trio. The three components are made to work together to cover everything your plants need. Only using the bloom component omits a lot of nutrients that your plants need. Personally, I wouldn't do it. I put so much time and effort into my grows that spending a few additional bucks is worth it to me. Compared to the value of the crop, the added cost is meaningless.
 
Agreed with the above. I must say that i've used the flora nova grow and bloom in the past for my soil i mix for containers.
