I was doing some gardening this evening and wondered who all was aware of these awesome gadgets..both are spot on accurate.

Yes it's a ppm meter $140...it's bad ass needs no callibration.

That's where that came from....local cigar shop owner had them hanging everywhere and they all read the same so I talked him out of one.....

The downside with the coil spring hygrometers are the calibration needed. One of my humidors stopped working cuz I didn't give it the attention it needed. It's not stuck at 60% lol

I use cheap equipment. I put my cheap humidity checkers (I usually use 3) in a sealed glass container with a couple of Bovida 62% packs, for a couple days and then label the humidity tester as +2% or -1% based on level of inaccuracy. I use $7 ph testers and calibrate them in 7% solution every time I use them.

I stumbled upon a German electronics company, called Renkforce, they carry a 40-50 usd 8-channel weather station, it comes with 3 wireless sensors in the box (plus the station acts as the fourth sensor), each has a lcd display of its own too, and measures both temp and humidity, the station offers an alarm setting for each sensor for hi and lo values of both temp and humidity, after crosschecking with 2 analog higro-thermometers it seems accurate, plus the station offers some calibration. Pretty neat if you ask me.

I have a thermometer that also shows the humidity and that's it. No other gadgets. I'm one of those lucky folks that has nearly perfect PH. 6.7 right out of t he well.

Blue Lab runs a dealership program that's geared around training retail stores and staff the importance of ph/ec, cleaning and minor repairs. We're given a special tool that connects to any popular ph probe with a BNC connector, or conversely connects to the Combo, Guardian, or PH meter (not the pens), and it'll do some diagnostic work for us. I was trying to find a picture of it online (day off work wee), but cna't find one, it' s a really neat tool lol
We're basically trained to do a lot of the work that blue lab would have to do if every meter had to be sent back to them. We're able to sniff out bad meters, bad probes, that sort of thing. And our RMA's get processed and returned faster than say a non certified retailer.

Chemicals emitted by the roots can change your PH especially in small hydro but can also in Coco or soil. You should be checking.

I do check occasionaly. The runoff stays pretty much in the 6.4 range. Also I can tell by the looks of the plant.
