Muddy buds

I took down my little outside girl today. I am leaving for a week and there is a lot of rain in the forecast, has been raining for three days already. We could also have a light frost. The pistils are dark and sucked in, good enough for me.
what to do about the branches near the soil that have mud all over them? Gently wash and hang to dry before trimming?

Rinse em with the garden hose, give a little shake and hang em up. A water rinse will hurt nothing.
