Mr.Furley's Grow Room.

OJH,
I just topped at the 3rd node and LST them, no manifold on this grow they are the 1,2,3rd growth sites trained out. Last grow I did a side by side one topping and one manifold both were cloned from the same mother, both photos. The result was manifolding= half the weight due to only six main colas, the plant that was topped produced twice the amount do to more colas.
I can see how manifolding a AUTO will give more weight in its short life cycle vs. a cloned photo you can control it's time and size. I have not tried autos yet, but rest assured I will manifold them when I do.
For now topping at the third and training has show me the most bang for my photo buck so I'm going a second round with it but maxing out the tent this time. You can see the two in my last grow below.
MF.

I think maybe you're misunderstanding me. I'm not asking can decarb be skipped I understand the differences.

To lay it out more completely:

Decarbing is the process of changing THCA to THC, activating it via heat over time. I have the same formula 110mi at like 210 or whatever the hard numbers are.

My question is why does the conversion require the oven?

If I heat the cannabis in a medium, oil-butter whatever, and bring it to the 210 and hold it there, cool and strain, isn't the THC now decarbed and infused all in one, hopefully less smelly step instead of two steps?

If one were to remove steps 2 and 3, then change 4 to simmer for 110 min at 210 stirring frequently, wouldn't the result be the same? It's the heat over time that activates the THC not the oven.

My other thought is that it's actually much easier to hold an oil or fat at a steady temp than an oven esp at such low temps. It seems to me it's one of those, well the guy that taught me did it and the guy that taught him did it.... Though, and hence the question, there maybe some other process or reason that I've been unable to find.

Sorry Ganja I did misunderstood your question. The only reason for the decarb in this recipe is its the way I learned and practice it and can not give you a reason without pure speculation at this point as to why or why not.
But now you got me thinking.

The only thing I've been able to think up is that by doing it all in one step in the oil, is that the smell/taste would be strongly infused in the oil. Which would be reason enough in most cases I suppose.

If you ever come up with the answer please post it :)

Inquiring minds want to know

The only thing I could speculate on would be water/gas evaporation in the oven that wouldn't happen in a oil. Even after decarbing in the oven the lotion has that smell.

NIce!

I got tired of messing with the sprayers on my aero-cloner, so I used the pump on an E&F table and turned the shell and lid into a bubble-cloner. It was this whole cannibalistic ritual thing, lol The E%F ate the aero-cloner pump and the aero-Cloner ate the DWC stones/tubes/pump.

Kind of a stoner Toy Story scene or something

Everything in my room is a constant ongoing upgrade, I almost need a time lock for the tent. Lol. I love recycling things. I could see sprayers being a problem IV got a lot of calcium carbonate?( if that's right) I go through coffee makers and water heaters fast, it clogs everything I'd be constantly cleaning sprayers.

Glad to be updating.
Happy to have a place to talk about weed besides to my weed. I Have miss all of the GWE family and Thank you all for making it the place it is.

Just another photo update.

I am in week 4 of flowing, some key factors for this grow.is 1). Sense I went right for training, defoliation, topping, and manifolding the first couple indoor grows I decided for a less active approach the time. Did not remove much in the veg, only topped one time this time, and stopped all training at the flip 2). A week before the flip I changed to a new eye hortilux Hps bulb dimmed to 75%, then dropped my timer down from 18/6 to 12/12 over the next 7 days, 3) in the second week I dropped my temperature in the tent from 78f to 75f and upped the hps to 600w. In the third week I defoiled 50% and stopped.
I would like to share the pictures from this last week I hope you enjoy as much as I do.

Thanks Canuck147, the pineapple has a smell that is out of this world sweet. I didn't remove as much as possible, I let them bush up then cleared out the middles only 3 times, most in the 3rd week of flowering. Figured I'd let them go a bit.

30 days of flower
IV hit the thirty day line, and started having some problems
1) clones have bugs.
it started 3 weeks ago, moths. So a little Spinosad spray, then gnats, and diatomaceous earth, then little microscopic eggs on the undersides of leafs, so neem oil. The biggest contributing factor is the clones are out in the open with no tent, with the changes in the seasons a hid light is a huge bug draw.
2) Now with all that (because it isn't enough)
3 weeks ago I give a Flush, transplanted, and then started losing new growth , all at the same time. Diagnosing as bugs to what looked like Calcium deficiency, just two day ago I check my calmag bottle and Low and behold my cal-mag is missing the cap seal, a quarter of the bottom of the bottle was hard as a rock. Now this is all my bad for not finding it sooner, adding to the clones problems, I may have to start new seeds and trash my clones:bawling:. I have new cal-mag and the flowering tent is showing signs of lite deficiency but not unmanageable.
besides the problem the girls are really starting to bulk up. I have dropped night time lows to 68f. And day time high at 75f
