I would suggest buying some SM90 first it'll be more of a sure thing if it is mold.

Hey grant, you don't want vinegar anywhere near your roots. I have simply picked off the algae and spoiled rockwool. But you don't want light on the wet rockwool: put covers on top!!

Just make sure you buy the right size: it should be a little larger than the circumference of the pot.
