My 28 year old daughter has epilepsy, they now call it seizure disorder. She was about 12 when she had her first seizure. She has tried several different medications and now takes Trileptal twice a day (I don't know the dosage). While her seizures are under control she still has what is called Absence Seizures. She just blanks out, stares off, and does not hear anyone talking her. They usually last up to a minute and when she comes out of it, she is confused and disoriented for anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes.
Since the research first started showing the positive effects of medical marijuana for children with epilepsy, I have often wondered if it would help her. She is married with two young children and a full time job. Her life does not lend itself to her using pot, and I think she would be against it anyway, being very anti-drug.
Still I wonder..........would it help her? Our state (PA) is now medical legal all though it will be a year or more until the dispensaries open for business.
