Molasses Effects?

Hi guys! I’m about 4 weeks into flowering and I’ve started feeding Fox Farm Bembé, which contains molasses, with my nutes. I know molasses is commonly used, but what are its effects? Does it actually change the smoking flavor of the bud? I don’t want to take away from the natural terp effects of my strain (currently growing Girl Scout Cookies from Nirvana). Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I use molasses all the time during flowering and I did not notice any changes after in term of flavors and aromas but I saw my girls enjoyed it.

Here what I read about it:

THE BENEFITS OF MOLASSES FOR YOUR CANNABIS GROW
  • Feeds the beneficial microorganisms in the soil
  • Improves structure and water retention of the soil
  • Enriches the soil with various essential minerals and vitamins
  • Helps to prevent the build-up of pathogens that could harm your plants
  • Helps minimise the risk for salt build-up in the soil, which could cause nutrient problems
  • Acts as a natural insecticide against common cannabis pests

Bembe is some good shit it's a combination of poop n molasses which adds life to your soil and feeds it at the same time in turn gives your plants some calcium and magnesium. It's gonna increase your terps and tri's. Only feed it every other week or 1/4 dose every week and you could have started at your switch to flower but better late than never 4sure. I used just fox trio for the first year and when I added the Bembe I could tell the difference in how sticky n stinky it ended up. To much will cause your leaves to get really dark and claw up

Oh damn now I’m really excited! I’ll do it every other nute feeding. Thanks for the info, good to find someone who knows specifically about Bembé!

Interesting info, FarmBuck. I wonder if most people would agree that it doesn’t sweeten up the buds like is claimed. Very interesting...

The molasses doesn't it feeds the critters in your soil then they turn it into the food your plants eat which is more of what makes the buds bigger and sweeter. That's why it doesn't change the flavor or smell of your weed, it's not actually sucked into the plant

I’ve been using it the last 3-4 grows. And it’s beneficial for the roots and the medium. But I never had a certain taste from it when I smoke the buds. To be honest. I know a lot of people say it will make the weed taste “sweet” but I don’t think so. I even tried to make one plant without and another with molasses. And actually gave it quite a lot molasses and didn’t taste any different.
but it’s a good beneficial supplement for the roots 💪🏻

That’s good to know! The idea of “sweet” tasting weed never really appealed to me. Then again I have a pretty weak sense of taste and smell.

Yep good stuff i've used it prior to finding that unsulfurated Granmas works. Right now using it on my autos.
