The other day I snipped a small bud for quality control purposes and after I had cut it, I noticed that calyces were growing out of the leaf stem! The anomaly was on the 'far side' of the bud, or I would not have cut it. I looked to see if there were any other sites doing this, but could not see any more.
Has anyone ever see or heard of this before? The sample did test up to my expectations, so no apparent harm done by the weird growth.
