Maxi grow ph

When I mix up solution for my feeding my plants I find that the H2O is at7.0 after adding a 1/2 tsp of Maxi grow the ph goe's down to 4.4 I've been changing the ph back to around 6.5 before using. Is this normal?Or am I doing something wrong.

I'm not familiar with Maxi grow, but as long as it doesn't smell too funky and it passes the eye test it should be good to go. Have you ever PH'ed the maxi grow by itself? Or even dilute it half with water and check ph?

I check PH before adding nutrients. When I add nutrients, especially FF Big Grow, it taints the water color and I not sure if I can get an accurate PH reading. Is this a good way to adjust PH?

But you won't know what your final PH is. I'm no soil grower, but I was under the impression you check input PH as well as runoff PH.

Let's say your optimal PH is 6.5-7.0. So if your input PH is 6.5 and your runoff is at 5.1 you need to adjust your PH at next watering higher so you can also increase runoff PH. This should be gradual. So don't go adding 10.0 PH water. You would keep adjusting your input PH to around 8.0-8.5 I'm guessing until your runoff stabilizes. Please, someone, correct me if I'm wrong here.

Your color won't effect ph reading!!

Some nutes are designed to help balance ph like what I use...emerald harvest .....so always keep that in mind so your not adjusting and then readjusting.
