Marijuana DOES cause schizophrenia and triggers heart attacks.

A federal advisory panel admitted cannabis can almost certainly ease chronic pain, and might help people sleep. But it dismisses most of the drug's other 'medical benefits' as unproven

We have talked on the forum before about the heart racing, etc. Also the blood sugar spiking and dropping. Serious issues for sure.

But to say that cannabis "causes" schizophrenia is total distortion. We all know that weed is not for everyone at all times. It is a psychoactive drug.

We don't know enough about cannabis. We need to study it intensely and learn the good the bad and the ugly..

heart racing in my opinion is not a panic attack. My heart races when i see a cute girl or drink too much coffee. I have had panic attacks and it is more akin to going into a funhouse while having a bad acid trip. My vision literally warps slightly and everything i see has a dark almost demonic feel to it.

I agree we need to study it more and more. But with what we know about it now and have known about it for decades, it needs to be legal everywhere. Peroid!

I know panic attacks and anxiety are common side effects of pot smoking for some. Luckily, for some like my husband, who suffered from panic attacks and about 6 years did have a mild heart attack, smoking pot keeps him cool and calm.

I agree. Just like alcohol and other drugs, one's behavior can change drastically. Schizophrenzia is something that already exists in your brain. Marijuana does not cause it, might however trigger or enhance it.

Agreed. I know it is being studied more and more and than work needs to continue, which I'm sure it will.
And thank God there are now many high CBD, low THC strains. For many, they are literally life savers.

And no matter how much they study it, dissect and analyse it, they will never be able to put their finger on its power, its majesty and its generosity. They won't be able to pigeon-hole it.
