Manifolding clones

So as my first grow nearing the end I am starting new babies in a separate area, and trying to do better this time.
I did FIM-ing and TOP-ing on the first grow, without any instructions so I want to do it right this time :)
I read the step by step instructions on Manifolding - Nebula's way and that is what I will try to do.
My question is that I have clones that don't have pair of leaves. The leaves are staggered and only one at a side.
I put a picture here of what they look like.
Am I counting one node at each leaf? So this plant on the picture has 7, is it ready to be topped?
Do I still cut above the third leaf and keep the second and third in this case and just take the bottom off?
Or am I supposed to count two leaves and I should still wait to do it?

Thank you for any advice!!!

I'll be interested in what others have to say-
I Fim clones & autos, but only top seedlings- as I have not had good results topping clones with staggered branching.
