HELP! Manifold 16 tops. How many nodes before last cut?

Hello. Yesterday I did my last topping and pretty soon I'll have my 8 tops.

But I want to go for 16. Now I don't know if I should wait until it grows 3 nodes, cut to second node and remove first node. Or grow to 4 nodes cut to third and remove 2 and 1.

What do you guys think?

If you are at 8 mains already, it sounds like you should keep on trukin' with what you've been doing.
Have any pictures?

You can top each of the 8 colas one more time for a total of 16 colas per plant. However, only do this if you’re going to grow big cannabis plants in a 5-gallon container or larger. For a small-to-regular sized cannabis plant, 8 colas is the perfect amount to give you the biggest buds and yields without spreading out the plant’s energy too much.

I did exactly as the tutorial. I do have 5 gal air pots and a 700w led from Mars hydro in coco/perlite.

He says I can top one more time. But I don't know if I should let it grow 4 nodes top to 3rd node and remove 1st and 2nd.

Or just grow to 3 nodes cut to 2nd and remove 1st

I think it might be your choice. The tutorial does not say. I am about to harvest my first manifold and decided not to top the 8. I have more than eight buds though.

I think you need to wait until you get 2-3 nodes on each main so you have enough spread, but it is your call, the mainline police lost funding so you dont need to worry about them for now

No pictures unfortunately. But it does look like in the tutorial. I tied them down so I get all tops at the same height. Now I have to wait for two more nodes. And cut again.

Also, after you're done topping, you let of shoots grow from the main stems or cut them off?

It's already at the first node. In the next few days I'll transplant to my 5gal and set-up auto watering. And do my final cut. Hopefully it all goes well.

Also, do you let off shoots grow from the main stems or cut them off?

You don't want anything on the lower part of your plant. And you don't want anything growing downward. The further down on the plant the smaller the bud.

I harvested my manifold plant yesterday. I made some trimming mistakes and left too many stems on the lower part of the plant. I cut the flowers off of the lowest point on each stem and took a pic. I then cut off what I feel I should have taken during a defoliation and took a pic. I'm hoping this will give me some guidance for the next one. Maybe it will help you.

That's what I'm trying to figure out, I guess I have to remove all side stem from the 8 main colas.

Thank you

What did you find not to your liking about the scrog net? I'm starting another manifold grow. I'll give the net another go and will use some dowel rods cross ways on the pot. I will use those as supports and plan to have some vertical stakes. If you haven't already search the forum. I remember seeing some DIY scrog net alternatives for manifold grows.

I have air pots and they allow me to stick some crayons in the side holes and tie my branches down to spread them out. After they get big I prefer plant yoyos. Scrog is just to much work.
