Making Feminized Auto seeds

I’ve done a little bit of research and managed to make my own auto fem seeds a couple times. I know seeds can get pricey so I wanted to pass this info along.

Are you stabilizing the genetics first? Or just making unstable seeds.

This is 3rd generation of this process with Cross of purple Ryder auto fem and Pineapple Express auto fems. I’ve separated all the seeds from specific crosses and taken the best purple pineapples and taken the best out of that. I’ve kept crossing the ones that have certain characteristics. I’ve eliminated the runts although this run I have a runt I’m crossing with also and those seeds are getting separated for smaller indoor grows. The seeds have been stabilized after the second set of crossing. My first gen seeds I gave away to friends and family did well and I had them separate which seeds were from what crosses so I was able to observe and cross with ones from that batch. This batch I’m doing this round are 2nd gen from my own cross. Yes the seeds have been stabilized.
Point being also that if you have an auto plant you liked and seeds unavailable now or you really like flavor or high or colors or what not you can cross it with itself and get more. Being 100% stable is great but even seeds from high end breeders especially in feminized field can be not all that stable. Plus seeds are pricey as hell. When i crossed strains I knew getting a good cross was gonna take a while. And a lot of growing and crossing to get what I want. All I really wanted from the Ryder was the purple hue while maintaining the high and growth of pineapple. For the most part I e gotten that except I get a Ryder runt (smaller size grow) then I would like. I just separate e those crosses for indoor grows.

Right on man. Most people making seeds and talking about what they did on here don’t understand the process of back crossing to stabilize. Glad to see someone else gets it.
I have had great luck with breeder seeds being stable. I mean if you are picking up F5 seed’s what would you expect?
New 420 guy has seeds from $2-6 per so won’t break your bank account like some of the providers do.

Making the seeds is fairly easy. Doing it correct for specific genetics takes a while. I started researching this a while ago since Seeds were getting pricey. I crossed some Barney’s farm pineapple with some purple Ryder just to get more seeds when I was running out. Then I got into the science of it and went from there. I love the Pineapple Express strain and so did everyone else. People like purple also I thought it cool if I try and make a purple pineapple strain and I did. Now the goal is to keep those genetics moving forward. By self pollination and crossing with other purple fruity strains and. Removing bad genetics like small plants and string plants. It’s tough because my tents get tied up with experiments when I could be growing my staple photos. Either way my friends and family like the seeds and plants they produce. I can only get better.

That’s what I am talking about there! Yeah, I have made unstable seeds before, grew them out and everything before I learned my lesson. I find it funny when people know about how to make feminized seeds, but don’t understand the concept of stabilizing genetics. Then the conversation usually becomes, “well I could find the next GG#4 or GSC strain in these seeds I accidentally created.” That’s when I usually tell them to go buy a lottery ticket because the odds of winning that game are much greater.
I understand wanting to save $$. But if it was really that easy, wouldn’t everyone just be doing it?
Glad to see you have done your due diligence about this process. Good to see someone else is paying attention to quality.
